1. Who are the targeted enterprises for the Enterprise Development Support Programme?

The targeted enterprises for the Enterprise Development Support Programme are small, medium and large enterprises with the below size classifications

      . Small enterprises:
                    i.All sectors :up to 50 employees and up to BHD 500,000 annual turnover.
                    ii.Construction: up to 100 employees and up to BHD 0.5 million annual turnover.
      . Medium enterprises:
                    i. All sectors: up to 250 employees and more than BHD 500,000 but less than BHD 5 million annual turnover.
                    ii. Construction: up to 400 employees and more than BHD 500,000 but less than BHD 5 million annual turnover.
      . Large Enterprises:
                    i. All sectors: More than 250 employees and more than BHD 500,000 and more than BHD 5 million annual turnover.
                    ii. Construction: More than 400 employees and more than BHD 500,000 and more than BHD 5 million annual turnover.

2. Which sectors are approved for co-financing?

All sectors are approved and are eligible for co-financing after meeting all indicated requirements in question14.

3. Which schemes can Enterprises participate in?

Enterprises can participate in any of the Enterprise Development Support Programme schemes concurrently. They can also apply for each scheme once again every two years.

4. What are the grants that Tamkeen (Labour Fund) is covering?

Tamkeen covers 80% of the products' and services' costs supported by the schemes under the Enterprise Development Support Programme

5. Can large enterprises benefit from the schemes offered by Tamkeen?

Yes

6. What is the maximum co-financing amount I can benefit from?

Tamkeen offers co-financing up to BD20,000 to large and medium sized enterprises and up to BD15,000 to small enterprises.

7. How many schemes exist under the Enterprise Development Support Programme?

Currently, the following schemes are being offered:

        a) Istishara (Business Development Scheme).
        b) Techania (Technical Assistance Scheme).
        c) Jawda (Quality Management Systems Scheme).
        d) Tarweej (Growth Assistance Scheme).
        e) Tasweeq (Marketing Assistance Scheme).

8. What documents must I provide with the application in order to benefit from the Enterprise Development Support Programme?

To apply, the following documents are required:

        a) Copy of the Commercial Registration Certificate and/or licence
        b) Smart card of the enterprise owner
        c) Bahrainisation Certificate from the Labour Market Regulatory Authority
        d) Proof of payment of Labour Market Regulatory Authority fees.
        e) Latest audited financial statement or present an in-house statement, or in the absence of any financial data, you will need to enroll for the Mohasaba schem
        f) Last month utility bills
        g) Last month bank statements of the business

9. How long do I have to wait for payment reimbursement?

To apply, the following documents are required:

Payment shall be made directly to the Service Provider/Supplier on submitting evidence of payment made by the enterprise owner to the Service Provider/Supplier. No amount will be reimbursed to the enterprise owner. Payments to Service Provider/Suppliers shall be processed within 15 working days the date of submitting the proof of payment by the enterprise owner.

10. What documents do I need to submit to process the payment to the Service Provider/Supplier?

The following documents are required in order to reimburse your payments:

        a) Original quotation.
        b) Original invoices.
        c) Original receipts.
        d) A copy of the bank statement/advice showing payment made to the Consultancy firm/Supplier.

11. Can I benefit from more than one Enterprise Development Support (scheme)?

Yes. Moreover, Enterprise owner can reapply for the same scheme in which he has participated before after two years of signing the contract.

13. Who can apply?

The following documents are required in order to reimburse your payments:

        a) A Bahrain based enterprise with an active Commercial Registration Certificate.
        b) Meets Labour Market Regulatory Authority Bahrainisation Quota
        c) Payment of monthly fees to the Labour Market Regulatory Authority
        d) Maintin active accounting system, bank account, and utility account

14. Can the Techania Scheme support investments in working capital?

No, it can only support purchase of machinery / technology that directly contributes to the productivity and profitability of the enterprise.
